What separates successful people from others is their discipline to stay focused on their goals. They do not get distracted and focus on their strengths to pursue their dreams. 3D Artist– Saumya Pandya Thakkar- Founder of Wet Brush Arts & Creative Director of Slims Health Club is one of them who has been staying focused on her skills to be productive and be successful.
An artist is born
Saumya was born on 23rd January 1987. Her father, Shashikant Pandya is a retired Officer from ONGC whereas her mother, Shakuntala Pandya is the founder Of Slims Health Club.
She graduated with a management degree. However, after finishing college she followed her instincts for art and eventually became a professional artist.
Her family supports her and she keeps learning and takes inspiration from them. Her father encourages her and her mother taught her not to be afraid of failures. With these lessons, she has attempted all the challenging tasks without hesitation. After marriage, her husband, Paarth Thakkar continues to support and guide her in the journey. This has made her take projects confidently and she does not have fear of losing.
In her leisure time, she loves photography and likes to explore naturally privileged places. She loves spending hours in the lap of dense jungles, mountains, and remote riversides.
Every artist was first an amateur
Right from childhood, she was very productive and didn’t like spending lazy hours. She would play with colors for long hours. When she started painting and completed multiple canvas paintings depicting the great bond between God and Nature, her mother encouraged her to have her first art exhibition.
When she was 16, she started painting seriously. At the same time, she started working with her mother at their Slims Health Club, an Aerobics and Yoga center for ladies. When some ladies saw her talent of being a good artist, they offered her to teach them too and she started training them. Her confidence in the art field increased as she was continuously guiding students and refurbish the faults. Her students have been her original Institute of art.
Gradually, she started taking customized orders and started painting for 3D selfie corners in various events. Day by day the sizes of art and events increased & one fine day she created India’s biggest 3D Artwork on the Highway to stop the accidents near the school. She explored her skills on various unusual sizes and surfaces like helmets, shoes, furniture, clothes or dustbins, so on.
She has an extremely creative personality that fascinated her in the art sector. She loves that her ideas are directed towards a productive channel. Art provides freedom of expression, beautification as well as solutions to many problems. Painting Art is like mediation for her as it taught her to be patient and focus on her passion. It is a stressbuster for her and she gets excited and happy to fill colors.
Painting her way ahead
She has received over 55 awards and medals in the field of art and sports. She set one India Book of Record and two Limca Book of Records. She was awarded by Indian Road Transport and Highway Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari. She has been felicitated by the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Vijay Rupani.
She received two awards under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Initiative, Quality Mark Women Award, Top Successful Gujaratis Unified Brains Award, Times of India Green Warrior Award, Award by Gujarat Kala Pratishthan, and also Women Achiever Award by B N Patel Institute of Paramedical.
She has received opportunities to be India’s First Women at TedX Amsterdam Women Speaker and Josh Talk Speaker.
She wants all the lovely girls to focus on their own skills and be productive when faced with any challenges. She believes that one can move ahead successfully if they stop wasting time in proving to others. She has complete faith that by working hard and staying honest, God will assist in meeting the right people and bringing the right opportunities to be successful.
Action overcomes fear
When she started painting, it was with her loved ones in her comfort zone. However as she started doing street arts, she had to face many challenges like leaving the cool cozy atmosphere to going outdoors, painting non-stop under direct heat throughout the day, or painting the entire night to reach the event’s deadline. Getting a minimum time frame for large-scaled artworks has been a task and trying all the tactics to finish the art project on time with committed quality gave her an adrenaline rush.
At one event, she had to paint India’s Biggest Artworks on the Highways with the heavy vehicles going nearby continuously. All her risks and hard work for this art were appreciated by the Central Road Research Institute. They also credited her art to be a lifesaver in their reports. As a result of this, her effort got viral and she started receiving praise from across the globe. Japan’s Railway Museum certified her design as the best design and USA’s educational trust printed her work in exam paper for studies.
Design your Future
As she is currently creating designs for artistically painted pillars of the over bridges on the highways, she makes her plans based on the orders. In the future, she plans to learn and keep innovating new ideas, and experiment on various surfaces and increase the sizes of her artworks. She believes that giving the best to her current opportunities and working hard with complete honesty will lead her to decide the future.
