Twinkle was born in Bhavnagar, Gujarat in a middle class family. Her father was a Bank officer and her mother a homemaker. Values inculcated and hard work was an example set by parents. There are no shortcuts in life and working ones way up is the best and trusted formula.
During her studies, she met her soul mate and they got married while she was still pursuing her 2nd year of graduation. However, she was fortunate and got the opportunity to complete her graduation post marriage which was rare those many years ago ( 2 decades).
After studies Twinkle took up a job in a recruitment /placement agency. She switched two jobs between the years 2001-2005. Her profile at the agency needed her to visit campuses to conduct campus interviews. She found that very interesting and considered the idea of utilising her experience to begin a business. It was the phase when most corporates preferred recruitment of employees through placement agencies and keeping employees on a third party payroll.
Keeping this trend and her knowledge in the forefront Twinkle started her own placement consultancy in 2005 and called it Instant Naukri , based out of Rajkot Gujarat. The challenges were huge especially with not many women entrepreneurs in this so called male dominated industry. This industry thrives on a good solid database of candidates and industry. Besides initiation to closure of a placement comes with its own road blocks that need to be cleared. Agreements between both parties need to be in place and issues if any need amicable sorting out.
As a first, in the year 2007 Twinkle’s company took the initiative to not charge candidates for placements. This was a boost for the company and she was able to place good candidates from engineering institutes in Gujarat. As an addition she added the skills and relevant training that made them employable to the industry they were being placed. In the year 2009 the company went ahead with earnestly pushing practical training as a bridge between the eligible student and industries. Challenges are nothing but hurdles that one has to jump over. The practical training was a boon to freshers for specialised courses enhancing their skills and in turn the industry benefits by getting good candidates. Keeping abreast and updated courses at regular intervals. Twinkle and her initiation thru Instant Naukri has changed the lives of more than ten thousand candidates to date.
Change is constant as the saying goes. Pushing oneself to the next milestone and working with focus towards a goal is the qualities for a true winner. Winning a game is not as important as playing it well and making changes wherever and whenever required. Positive amends internally and externally is the source of inspiration to those associated with an individual or company. Twinkle Shah has set an example to follow your heart and move ahead step by step making a difference on every new step. In 2010, they have expanded to cities like Ahmedabad and Baroda in 2015, along the way given employed many young minds . Freshers are chiselled to adapt to the industry and its system. Many of them are doing well and flourishing in their chosen careers. Twinkle has one small advice which is entirely through personal experiences. It’s always better to work in a chosen industry before you venture out to become an entrepreneur. Using this formula the understanding of an employee and employer perspective is taken care of. It’s important for an employer to at times fit into the shoes of an employee to understand challenges.
