“Self-Confidence is a superpower. Once you start to believe in yourself, the magic starts.”

Dr. Purvi Goswami

Her family and childhood

Purvi was born on March 10, 1993 in an ordinary Gujarati family in Kachchh, having a land of white desert. A famous quote for this land is ” Kachchh nahi dekha toh kuch nahi dekha” by legendry actor Amitabh Bachchan.

Though her father is a very successful businessman now, but he has done many works in his entire life starting from being a Fabricator, Social Worker, and as well as Police. Her mother is a doting housewife.

She has an elder sister who is a mud work artist and a younger brother who works with Maruti Suzuki. Purvi is a replica of her father, who is on one side very calm and composed but on the other side is aggressive while doing work. her father has joined the Police Department after clearing PSI, but due to family reason he had left to his job and started his career as a businessman. he was the first dealer in kuchchh of the Royal Enfield bullet when she born.

she wanted to be a doctor in her life. When Purvi was in school it was already decided by her family that she will not continue her studies after class 12. This was because of the fact that her family has conservative mindset, and will never allow a girl to attend a co-educational college. At that time Kachchh had no girls college. But Purvi always wanted to study further. God listened to her, and before she completed her class 12 exam, a girls college was established in her area which gave her the opportunity to continue with her higher studies. She got admitted to ‘Muktajivan Swamibapa Mahila Arts and Commerce College’. After completing her B.Com., she started her M.Com. from ‘Krantiguru Shyamji Krishna Verma Kachchh University‘.

She was the first girl in her family who had completed master degree. during studies in masters, She passed the prelim exam for Commercial Tax Officer – GPSC class 2, she reached the final exam but her name didn’t appear on the interview merit list. According to him getting a chance in a college as a professor is a long process. But, she didn’t listen to her father. She discussed with her logic that after class 10, she got asked to take Commerce instead of Science and she lost chance to become a doctor. now she will not loose any chance for her hard work whatever she wanted to achieve in her life.

And finally she started studying her another master degree M.Phil. with commerce subject .

She went to Ramkrishna Mission’s branch in Kachchh and appeared for the interview as a tutor, but instead, the President of the Mission offered her a job as a Project Co-Ordinator.

The President told her that a talented girl like her if becomes a tutor will be focused on only one subject, instead as a Co-Ordinator she has many avenues and can handle whole project. She went there to get a part-time job but grabbed her first full-time job. This was really another turning point in her life. She worked very hard there and was praised by all.

Continuing with her job, so many people had advised her to learn something in NGO management, because she has more power to manage projects all around her. therefore she decided to take admission in third master degree MSW. She had to manage both her job and classes. Due to her classes, they allowed Purvi to change her work shift, and the committee there readily agreed to it, since they didn’t want to lose a gem like Purvi. But, after a few months, she had to take too many leaves from her work due to her classes, and she was feeling guilty about it as the Mission never deducted her salary due to this. She thought a lot and met the President.

They mutually decided that Purvi will no longer be an employee there, but will work as an honorary member who will be there beside the Mission, whenever they need her. Till today, she is associated with the Mission and pays a regular visit.

Purvi has excelled amazingly in MSW and is a Gold Medallist. She received the Gold Medal from the Governor of Gujarat, Shri Acharya Devvrat and from the Education Minister, Shri Bhupendra Sinh Chudasama in the year of 2019.
