How it all began

His story begins with a humble background, as we know he was born in a little village, Gondal, close to the city of Rajkot. Bullying at school that was a cause for embarrassment and gave him the motivation to excel and work hard. Pronunciation of simple words that he could not manage, getting ridiculed amongst peers and teachers, did not leave him bruised but gave him the power to rise from the ashes. He had a very middle-class upbringing, where his father was a Talati Mantri (a village accountant) and mother used to sell groceries door to door in his village.

We have heard that “one good friend is equal to many good books that change your life,” this turned out to be true in his case, as he met a girl in a family function when he was in 8th class, she was the reason behind the change in his life. She helped him develop his personality by giving him the confidence to conquer the world. They are still very good friends. Dr. Hiren Ghelani believes that understanding women’s mindset makes management easy to learn.

After completing his graduation, his father wanted him to start earning and suggested him to do the job at one grocery store in a village, but Dr. Ghelani told his father about his desire to study further in IT domain and get a PGDCA degree. He said that 10,000 rupees that his father gave him for fees of PGDCA that became the foundation stone for building this empire. Had his father not there for him, he might not have become a successful businessman. It is now, when he looks back in time, that he realizes how important those 10,000 rupees are to his career and thank his father every day for that trust and support.

Soon, he started his own IT company, even though he wasn’t very experienced in the field of Information Technology, this was his rise in the field of management, a great businessman knows where to invest and how to flourish. His vision and skills make him an accomplished businessman with acumen for management.

The window that opened for Dr. Ghelani was job opportunity that he received from the same institute where he was studying for his graduation. He flew open that window with his hard work and dedication with the belief that he would conquer the world with the experience he garnered at such a young age. He wasn’t aiming for just personal growth but also to help the institute, where he learned so much from, grow as well. He single-handedly took charge and devised a new record maintenance system, he also streamlined the admission process reducing labor and expenditures. His capabilities enabled him to become the campus director within four years of the same institute where he was hired as a mere clerk. This passion for growth and management became his kryptonite and he soon built his own empire with the same drive that he started his first job.

When he was ready to expand and grow personally, he quit his job and started his business in partnership with a training and software development institute in Rajkot. He was associated with the institute to train students.   His technique of teaching and training gained him accolades along with honor and fame.   His interactions with students changed the lives of many students.  These students who are well placed today, till date have all the gratitude and thank him for his contribution in molding their thinking and lives.

Failures are the stepping stones to success.  A proverb easier said than done, however, Dr. Ghelani was not spared from failures.  A venture he started in partnership did not succeed and he had to step down.  He started three IT companies in a short span and one of them has been awarded as the fastest growing service providers in India. His professional expertise had devised applications that offer solutions to tedious and lengthy processes.

One of his interesting achievements is that of generating recurring income regularly, investing in commercial properties. He has personally invested in many estates proving once again that his investments and businesses sense is a guarantee for success, setting an example for others to follow.

His principle is that of ‘dream big’, Work hard and have a regular flow of recurring income for a business to flourish.  Never become indispensable.   Ensure you have a good leadership lineage who will manage without you.   Equip yourself for an early break from work around 40 years if you wish but ensure at the same time to have good sources of income that fuels your passion to be helpful to society and the less fortunate.

He believes in a line “Sarthi ne shashtro ni jarur na pade” as he gets his motivation from the Mahabharata, In the Mahabharata Lord Krishna won the battle without any weapons which inspired Dr. Ghelani. Similarly, he believes that if he can guide his student to win the battle of life the correct way, then he would like to be that guide (sarthi) who teaches his students to win without weapons. However, in today’s age knowledge, honesty and hard work are the weapons that give you success. Helping the less fortunate or underprivileged is in a way giving back to society.  Karma is a circle that comes back like a boomerang. Who can be a better inspiration than Dr. Ghelani a humble village primary school to today holding four master’s degree and a Doctorate?  A journey steep and tough, but he never gave up until he reached the summit.  Our best wishes to him as he continues to reach and make a mark professionally, giving us an inspirational roadmap to follow.
