Kajal Mehta, an author who has penned a very successful book – Just One More Button Down and with a second one on its way – Co-authors.
Just as an author fills pages with her / his thoughts, a life of an individual too is made of chapters, many in number one after the other.
Born and brought up in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Kajal was educated in this amazing city of Ahmedabad, she completed her B.Com. Being independent a virtue she got as part of her upbringing. A father, who taught his daughters to be independent, yet be helpful whenever and wherever they can. Well educated parents, Kajal’s mother are a Masters in Literature. Motivating her daughters to read and absorb all the knowledge from books, staying independent and handle every kind of challenge life has to offer. Staying within limits and being grounded an important lesson that came from her parents. Kajal has lived up to it to this day.
It is in college that Kajal had begun her professional journey. A purpose and a goal give meaning to life was her mantra. Without meaning or purpose success becomes useless. She joined the financial sector and then moved to advertising. Not unusual for the generations of today to change tracks.
In the year 2003, Kajal got married but continued her professional journey as her fundamental need to be independent with a meaningful life was always on priority. She shared every responsibility with her husband and always wanted to be equal in every way.
After consulting with friends and colleagues she decided to move on to an industry that dealt with grooming and personality enhancement of an individual. She decided to be a consultant to help others groom and improve their overall image. After a lot of thought and strategic brainstorming and with her friends, family, colleagues, and others she concluded that she will be a perfect fit in the area of Image consulting. Kajal has done lots of studies and brainstorming to final the name of an institute to get it done perfectly. She joined the Institute to pursue and get certified in this niche profession. Not too many around specializing in the field back then, and Kajal made a place for herself.
Kajal was the first consultant in this field in the state of Gujarat in 2012. A proud achievement indeed! Kajal was sure she wanted to be perfect in whatever she did. She completed a certification course in Image Consultancy from the renowned “Institute of image consulting” UK. In her professional journey, she has completed over 50 projects. She got invited by renowned organizations after receiving an award for her author profile and for her image consultant professional achievement too. She has conducted 100+ workshops, seminars and helped many people find meaning and garner their strengths and chisel their positives.
A married woman with a child and a full-time job, she had to balance her work and career, which she did beautifully. She was always independent and brought meaning to the lives of every member of her family. She was ready to overcome any challenges and that was not difficult because of her high energy and self-motivation.
A movement to Rajkot, Gujarat helped her reconnect with another side of her. Travel diaries, articles, and notes she had written. She took it to the pen and started writing again. Thoughts and emotions put together, compiled her first book “Just one more Button”. Needless to say, the book received great responses and Kajal got nominated and awarded the Global Author Award 2018 for her debut novel, besides winning the Global Readership Award 2017-18. The passion to write grew and she penned many great articles, media copies and write-ups on various niche.
