The world today is competitive in every way. To get into the system and prove oneself, the most important factor is education. Education, not just through books and classrooms but through skill and talent enhancement. This helps individuals to make a place for themselves in this big wide world.
Sunita Juneja Nandwani, came from very humble beginnings. Hardworking parents who inculcated the right values in her was her first step in nurturing her to the person she is today. Mother, who came from very stable and well to do background had a passion for designing clothes. She never let go of her passion and indulged in tailoring then and even today. Her father was into the handloom business and did very well; hence Sunita was blessed with a very stable, healthy and loving environment while growing up. However, the values her parents taught her was that for her to understand from the beginning – nothing comes easy. One has to work hard to earn and live in today’s world. Sunita always looked up to her father as a saintly family-oriented individual.
Sunita graduated from the Kurukshetra University, Haryana. A university established in the year 1956, is today a multi-faculty University and considered a premier center for advanced study and research in the country.
Today a businesswoman who had made a name for herself, not with awards and accolades, which she feels is not relevant but with hard work and perseverance. Sunita’s areas of work today revolve around education and educational institutions. Her company provides books, stationery, uniforms to almost most Schools in Gujarat. Her connection with education was always there and her interests took her to a platform that works around students. Another area she manages “Fly for University” where she is the CEO & Founder. Through this platform, she assists students to apply and complete processes involved in pursuing studies abroad. MBBS and other postgraduate courses. She is proud to be the President ( Gujarat) of Private Schools and Children Welfare Association besides being the Member Women Cell of Hindustan Scouts and Guides. Today, in hindsight she says she is an Entrepreneur today – thanks to her younger son! Children are the reasons, we change our direction, tap our inner potential and achieve success. Sunita is a typical example. She says while she was doing a regular job, her son mentioned “Mom you aren’t just made for this, come out of this cabin. You are made to do a lot more.” These innocent words prompted her to take a plunge into business.
Recognition comes in many forms. Awards and accolades are one of them. However, Sunita feels she rather make a name for herself and gets recognized through her work, rather than receiving awards, which today is mostly a commercial deal. Paid awards are a total NO-NO for her. She cherishes some of the awards bestowed on her – one of them being a recent one, The Global Leadership Award presented to her at an event that took place at The Lalit Mumbai from Private Schools and Children Welfare Association.
For the future, Sunita wants to be a great Businesswoman and grow in her field, serve society, children and make a mark in the field of Education. Education is indeed a seed if nurtured well grows into a huge tree that has no limits
Every successful individual has support in the form of family and friends. Sunita’s husband, Suresh Nandwani and her children fuelled her passion to rise and reach for higher goals. Suresh Nandwani is a businessman who deals in textiles and imported fabrics. An entrepreneur, Suresh has been doing well in his line of work. She is truly grateful to the almighty for blessing her with such wonderful support. Since her passion being Education, she was given full freedom to start and become an entrepreneur in this area. She remembers – there was a time when she would approach schools for jobs, but the ‘ no vacancy’ reply was what she got. Today she is a partner in many such institutions. Indeed the world goes round and for Sunita in a good way
Motivation is beside Sunita always in the form of Vivek Bindra, the renowned motivational speaker. Sunita listens to him – at home and while travelling. This voice inspires her and gives her the bounce to do better every day and every moment. She was privileged to meet him at a couple of occasions and interact with him. His words resonate keeping her motivated – “jhansi ki rani ho aap, aap kuch bhi kr sakti ho, just move ahead”
Not to rest on past laurels, Sunita says she has miles to go and her journey has just begun. This country needs people like Sunita and with inspirations like hers, our children have examples to look up to as they step into the world after school and college education.
