Udaipur, the land of lakes and palaces is the birthplace of Surabhi Prabhu. Surabhi was born on 17th May and Udaipur was where she was brought up. Surabhi’s biological parents are based in Baroda .
She completed her schooling and College in Udaipur. A good student with discipline in top gear – Surabhi was the monitor and a favorite among her teachers.
Surabhi is fortunate to have two loving set of parents – Biological and parents who adopted her. She was adopted by the elder sister (Aunt) of her mother. A middle class family – both engaged in service (Bank Manager) and Business. Her mother is a home maker.
Dreams and aspiration – Child to adult !
As a child Surabhi , like most kids would dance at family functions and with her enthusiasm, it indicated to elders her aspirations to be on the big screen. This was taken as a joke as some where she also wanted to become a model. She never got down to horning her skills for that platform and just as any other girl she wanted to become a housewife. Get married and have wonderful kids. However, when she saw Aishwarya Rai winning the crown and later her films she got inspired to follow those tracks. She persisted on this dream and it became a reality.
Surabhi was fortunate to get opportunities to model for top brands like Onida, Pepe Jeans, Provogue, Cygnus Diamonds, Kiah Diamonds, Garden Vareli Sarees, Kishco Cookware, Nabeel perfume, Reliance, Idea 4G, Maruti cooking oil,Damas Jewellery (Dubai), Rani Soap (Sri Lanka), Pepsi (Mauritus), Lorenz (Paris) and several other National and International brands. A natural transition for models is the big screen. Surabhi too acted in regional movies like Kadavul Paathi Mirugam Paathi (2015), Appayya (2013) and Ila Ayithe Ela (2017) , Ei8ht shani , Rahadhaari , 7 Prem Kathalu . Her next film to release is Malayalam film Ente Sathyan weshana Pareek shakal in the year 2021 . She’s worked in Indian Television as well. Television – Shapath ,Shhh koe hai, CID , Savdhan India, Everest. Basically she loved the camera and enjoyed being in front both as a model and actor.
The most beautiful woman in the world Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was her inspiration always. Surabhi won many titles and the fall out was just the best things that come with it – fame, name and monetary positives.
She was very young when she started her own venture of designer boutique for which she took a loan. She even took tuition to honor her financial commitments. Says a lot for a young girl of 17 years.
Surabhi is stepping a ladder of an entertainment industry but her journey is not only limited to this industry. She ventured into many businesses. Her clothing business which she has started as a teenager is still her regular source of income but that business is badly affected due to corona pandemic. Surabhi has also ventured into Silica Sand business but due to unethical practices she learnt a lot from that sand business failure. One of her venture was related to Pulses and in that business logistic was her big headache and also after exporting she realized that India is not the market for that venture. She was passionately moving forward and she ventured into real estate field but when she did two deals in UK she realized that real estate field is not her cup of tea. Right now, she is seeing herself happy with timber and milk products business. she is now clear with fundamentals from her experiences about venturing into the business. she feels that as a one need to have certain mindset to be a successful entrepreneur. Business is easy when we understand the market, needs, supply and demand. From her journey she can say that “entrepreneurs have lots of good ideas but some ideas can distract you from your core business. so before considering new directions, it’s good to clearly define that which part of your business will give you flow that make your remaining things easy.”
When destiny comes knocking!
Before getting entered into industry she was fashion Designer. She used to invite models for shoot. Once due to the absence of one model she was on the verge of a project cancellation that would impact her financially. As a last resort she modeled for that shoot and with that set the ball rolling. She then took part in beauty pageants and won the Miss Baroda & Miss Gujarat title, and then what followed was modeling and acting.
Skill sets a pre-requisite
The general perception is and even for Surabhi as a child was being good-looking gets you a there a hundred percent but later on becoming part of the industry , realized skills and talent are equally important in this field. In order to equip herself she did an acting course from Kishore N Kapoor and also a dancing course to keep up steps needed in this profession.
In 2006, she started her career as a model but modeling was never her end goal. It just provided her with an income that helped her in managing her finance. Her past work done over the years gave her profile a good boost which got her many prestigious projects
During her acting course a photographer suggested she do a shoot for a project and she grabbed the opportunity. Her first work, she subsequently got to be featured on magazine cover. More money in her kitty besides a dream as is for any model.
Challenges are not obstacles
Struggles are a package deal in life. In the glamour world, it’s very tough for contestants from small towns as compared to the metro cities. The exposure, grooming and communication skills are the points the aspirants from cities score. Hence small town individuals, have to work doubly hard to be noticed. Besides, first impressions are what really make an impact both internally and internationally. Multi language skills are a big plus with scope for much more work internationally.
Surabhi has self-supported her endeavors from day one. She came from a very middle class family and without a Godfather in the industry. She had focus, vision and worked very hard to achieve that goal. Making her efforts pay to build a career which has competition at every step.
Major accomplishments
Though she has achieved a great deal she believes she has a long way to go and working towards it.
Her major projects like Kiah, Damas, Tata Sky, Reliance and lot of International and national brands are part of her portfolio. One step at time to reach the top of the ladder is what she believes. She shifted to New York and she got signed for good projects for modeling.

Future Plans
The career she has chosen (acting) until she has life in her. Her favorite words Jeena Yaha Marna Yaha… which she hopes is in her destiny. She would like to work with directors like Shoojit Sircar and Pradeep Sarkar who she admires a great deal
Hobbies that give her a break from regular work are cooking and baking. Having traveled a fair bit she loves New York and Amsterdam. Travelling is a perk with this profession and Surabhi ensures she makes the most of every opportunity she gets.
